Interaction Of Phytocannabinoids + The Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
What Are The Role Of Neurotransmitters In The Brain?
Adenosine - Dopamine - Seratonin - TRPV-1 - AG2 - Anandamide
In every mammal's body exists an endocannabinoid system and the ECS is spread throughout every major system, acting as a master regulatory hub to bring about homeostasis in the body by connecting the neurological functions of the central nervous system (CNS) with the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS nerves connect to the PNS nerves specifically throughout the:
The Endocannabinoid System (ESC) Regulates A Mammal's Functions:
Phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil can potentially activate the
following neurotransmitters and their respective responses in mammals:
1. Adenosine which helps the body fight inflammation.
2. Dopamine which improves motor control, cognitive function and motivation. Low levels of dopamine are associated with Parkinson's disease.
3. Seratonin (5-HT) whereby hemp oil's cannabidiol can mimic seratonin at their respective receptor sites to bring about anti-anxiety and anti-depressant effects along with possible drug addiction recovery potential. *This is not a drug addiction recovery claim.
4. TRPV-1 (Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1) which can dial down inflammation and relieve sensations of pain and signal the brain of potentially harmful temperature abberations in the body too.
5. AG2 (2-arachidonoylglycerol) when combined with CBD and cannabinoids regulates appetite, immune systems functions and pain management.
6. Anandamide (N-arachidonoylethanolomide or AEA) along with the ingestion of cannabidiol and other cannabinoids in hemp can trigger a biological response whereby the body turns off the enzyme FAAH (fatty acid amide hydrolase) responsible for the degradation of anandamide (nicknamed, the "bliss molecule.)" Sustained anandamide levels improves that euphoric "natural high" also associated with "runner's high." This is a calming yet pleasant mental state non-psychoactive in nature induced two ways, from consuming cannabis or as an after-effect of exercise. Anandamide was isolated and discovered by cannabis scientist Professor Raphael Mechoulam and his colleagues in 1992. [4] [15] [16]
